Introduction to brush sanding

As an introduction to brush sanding machines from QuickWood I would like to give you a brief overview of what brush sanders will do.

A QuickWood brush sander will de-nib your raw wood product along with breaking the edges and giving a uniform pore opening. Removing the fuzz (de-nibbing) will cause a smoother stain and sealer coat resulting in less sanding of the sealer and an eventual better top coat finish. Breaking the edges removes the weak area in the finish and allows for better sealer sanding without burning through the stain. A uniform pore opening generates a much better color balance throughout the product eliminating the blotching that so often accompanies hand sanding.

QuickWood machines are also capable of sealer sanding once the material has been stained and sealed. Sealer sanding with the QuickWood gives a random scratch pattern (scuffing) to the sealer which results in a much better bond between the sealer and top coat. Primer sanding in the case of painted surfaces is also possible.

Most QuickWood sanding equipment is capable of utilizing our patented ‘QuickStrip’ double sided abrasive product. Double sided means changing from raw wood to sealer sanding with just the push of a button to change from one grit to another.

Our abrasive products will fit many other applications, and competitors abrasive products will fit QuickWood machines. This means you have options.

Utilizing QuickWood brush sanders for both raw wood and sealer sanding will increase the quality of your finished product on a consistent basis due to the fact that every piece will be sanded the same time after time. You will also realize huge labor savings.

QuickWood also manufactures equipment specific for linear board feet applications such as molding and flooring. We also have equipment for flat panel sanding, shutters, interior and entryway doors, and solid surface applications.
