QuickWood Flap Wheels

Different Style of Flap Wheels offered by QuickWood

Quick-Flex flap wheels

The Quick-Flex is a single row of Brushes with an abrasives glued to the front of the brush. The brush strip slides into our Aluminum hubs or our segmented plastic hubs. As see in the picture below how it works with the plastic hubs. The Quick-Flex system is very economical when you just need a cheap set of flap wheels for a hand held sander or spindle. In the long run replacing the brushes every time is not economical so QuickWood came up with their second style of Flap wheels below.

Quick-Strip Flap wheels

The QuickWood flap wheels and tools comes in many different configurations and they are easy to build your self using your own spindle or using a spindle from QuickWood

The concept of the flap wheel is as that the brush will back up the abrasives, so the faster you spind the spindle the harder or more aggressive the abrasive will sand.

If we break down the flap wheel you see in the picture above each segment would look like the picture below. The picture show a Quick-Strip brush with slot on both sides. The Quick-Strip brushes also comes with only a single slot for one sided brushes.

Flap wheel stripThis way the flap wheel will have a fine abrasive side and and coarse abrasive side, and when you change the rotation of your spindle the other abrasive will start sanding. This would be good for wood sanding and sealer sanding with the same flap wheel.

Now you can take these strips and build your own head, 4″. 8″ 10″ it does not matter you order them to length for what you need. You will also need to find out what spindle diameter you have so you can get the right adapter for your spindle so you can fit the QuickWood flap wheel hub on your spindle.

Ask you woodworking dealer if he carries the QuickWood Flap wheels
